NEW YORK CITY — 15 SEPTEMBER 2026: It’s nothing but noise out there as leaders gather for the 81st session of the UN General Assembly. Diplomatic Courier is convening Signals House as part of its UNGA 81 Dialogues from 21 September 2026 to sort through this unprecedented noise to focus on what matters as we close in on the 2030 deadline for the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The UNGA 81 Dialogues, co-hosted by Diplomatic Courier’s futuristic global action platform World in 2050, feature three Signal Salons and a Diplomatic Soirée, each convened through the organization’s Global Embassy.

"Signals House exists for the harder question that follows: who will build the systems to meet these challenges, and how do we do it together?"
Sensemaking Amid Unparalleled Noise
Each Signal Salon builds on a series of previous Diplomatic Courier convenings held over the last year in Zurich, New York, Washington, DC, Paris, Austin, TX, San Francisco, and beyond. Those insights are captured and brought forward to other convenings, informing what comes next. The salons are built to cultivate reflection and connection, opening up new avenues for action.
“We designed Signal Salons to help surface the quiet signals that are easily missed in our noisy world,” said Diplomatic Courier Editor-in-Chief Shane Szarkowski. “The diverse room helps us test assumptions and build shared understanding during moments of transition. Members of World in 2050’s expert network often act as delegates, carrying insights forward and to the world at large. ”
The Education Futures Forum seeks to define the New Foundational Literacies that younger generations will need to navigate and lead our world, as well as what it will take to finance and deliver them at scale.
The Philanthropy Futures Forum navigates how the philanthropy sector can evolve collaboratively to better withstand the new pressures of its expanding role.
The Collaboration for Climate & Health Impact roundtable explores avenues for collective action among leaders in consumer goods, healthcare, insurance, and finance.
Celebrating Twenty Years
Diplomatic Courier will celebrate its twentieth anniversary with a Diplomatic Soirée at Signals House. The celebration brings together Diplomatic Courier’s closest partners and stakeholders for an evening of reflection and connection. The formal programme includes the launch of a new book: “Everyone’s Business: Twenty Years of Diplomacy Beyond the Corridors,” by Ana C. Rold and recognition of the 2026 Diplomatic Courier Envoy Award honoree, George Papandreou, former Prime Minister of Greece.

Televised live September 25, 2026 on UN TV in the SDG Media Zone, organized by the UN Department of Global Communications in collaboration with the PVBLIC Foundation, this panel explores what it will take to build health systems capable of handling growing pressures like non-communicable diseases and aging populations.
Transforming Global Education
Learning Economy Foundation, in collaboration with PVBLIC Foundation and Diplomatic Courier, is demonstrating and launching EducationOS. Designed to be a digital public good accessed and adopted freely by any education system, EducationOS is designed with data sovereignty, transparency, and learner consent at its heart. It provides open access for education systems to choose, deploy, and manage edtech tools, credential wallets, and data systems that are trustworthy and effective without being locked into costly proprietary systems.
A public demonstration on September 22, 2026 will be followed by a panel and discussion with ministers from countries already piloting EducationOS. An official launch announcement will follow on September 24, 2026.
Insights from the UNGA 81 Dialogues will be synthesized in a series of published Signal Briefs and the focus of future convenings, including events alongside the 2027 World Economic Forum in Davos.
