Thomas Dichter has 50 years of hands on experience working to promote development in over 60 developing countries on four continents, working for such agencies as the U.S. Peace Corps, USAID, the World Bank, UNDP, and the Aga Khan Foundation in Geneva, Switzerland. He holds a BA in European history from Columbia, and an MA and PhD in anthropology from the University of Chicago. He has published numerous articles, research papers, and two books on development issues, including “Despite Good Intentions, Why Development Assistance to the Third World Has Failed,” University of Massachusetts Press, Amherst and Boston, 2003.
